Analeigh Tipton might not be a household name (yet) but it's pretty likely you've seen her before. Whether it was on the catwalk, modeling or in films like Crazy Stupid Love, Warm Bodies and Lucy.. Analeigh leaves a memorable mark on everything she does.
Her latest film is Mississippi Grind, which was recently shown at the Toronto International Film Festival. It also stars Ryan Reynolds and Ben Mendelsohn, two co-stars who Tipton says couldn't have been more down to earth and fun.
The film centers around Mendelsohn's character Gerry, a guy who is down on his luck and facing financial hardship. So Gerry teams up with younger charismatic poker player Curtis, (Ryan Reynolds) in an attempt to change his luck. The two set off on a road trip through the South with visions of winning back what's been lost.
Tipton has now had the opportunity to work with not one but two Hollywood hunks named Ryan who also happen to be Canadian. Ryan Gosling was her co-star in Crazy,Stupid Love and now Reynolds is giving Gosling a run for his money in, Mississippi Grind.
In a recent interview with People.com Tipton said she loved working with both Ryans but they both are unique in their own way. "They're so different and special and Ryan Reynolds is – I've never met a bigger gentleman."
I spoke with the lovely Analeigh Tipton at the Toronto International Film Festival, just prior to the film's premiere. We discussed her career choices, working with her gentlemanly co-stars and learning magic for her role in Mississippi Grind.
Mississippi Grind opens in Toronto on Friday September 25th (TIFF Bell Lightbox) and Montreal. It will also be available on VOD/iTunes the same day.
