Laurie Hernandez is not only a National treasure but one of the most inspiring people on the planet!

Laurie Hernandez is an American gymnast, best-selling author, and the youngest-ever champion of the hit reality TV show Dancing with the Stars. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Laurie won silver in the individual balance beam competition and secured gold in the team all-around competition. Laurie started gymnastics at the age of six because she wanted to experience the feeling of flying. Her new picture book – “She’s Got This” – encourages kids to go after their dreams and do what they love.

The Olympic champ is now inspiring the kids competing in Universal Kids’ brand new series - American Ninja Warrior Junior. Laurie co-hosts along with Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila. American Ninja Warrior Junior marks the first time the show’s biggest fans – KIDS! - can become part of this five-time Emmy® nominated worldwide phenomenon.

Some 200 Junior Ninjas from across the U.S. will face off on Head to Head courses in three age brackets: 9 & 10, 11 & 12, and 13 & 14 year-old boys and girls. The courses will feature iconic Ninja Warrior obstacles, including Sonic Swing, Tic Toc, Spin Cycle, and the Warped Wall. Each age bracket will be mentored by All Star Ninja Mentors - Kevin Bull, Drew Drechsel, Natalie Duran, Meagan Martin, Najee Richardson, and Barclay Stockett. Three final winners (one per age bracket) will be crowned the first ever American Ninja Warrior Junior Champions.

American Ninja Warrior Junior celebrates real kids taking on the iconic course with dedication and skill.
