Adam Sandler has set aside his goofy side to star in,The Cobbler. Sandler plays Max Simkin, a man who repairs shoes in the same New York shop that has been in his family for generations. Disenchanted with the grind of daily life, Max stumbles upon a magical heirloom hidden away in his basement that allows him to step into the lives of his customers and see the world in a new way. Sometimes walking in another man's shoes is the only way to discover who you really are. The Cobbler also stars Steve Buscemi, Method Man, Dustin Hoffman and Ellen Barkin.
I sat down with Adam Sandler and the film’s director Tom McCarthy to talk about what it was like making the movie and how much it reminded Adam of his late father. I also spoke with co-star Ellen Barkin about what it was about the script that made her want to sign on.
