ANDY McQUEEN TALKS OUTER BANKS AND MORE

Veteran character actor Andy McQueen is one busy guy. His latest role is playing the baddie in the hit Netflix Series, Outer Banks.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, it’s no secret that ths hit Y/A series Outer Banks is one of the most streamed series on Netflix.

Outer Banks is set in a coastal town along the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where there is a stark social divide between wealthy seasonal residents and working-class locals (who have the nicknames "Kooks" and "Pogues", respectively). The show follows a group of Pogue teenagers who live at The Cut, and are determined to find out what happened to the missing father of the group's ringleader, John B. Along the way, they discover a legendary treasure that is tied to John B's father. Chased by the law and a wealthy group of Kooks from Figure Eight, the Pogues seek to overcome obstacles such as love, fighting, friendship and money.

Picking up directly where season 2 left off, we find the Pogues attempting to find the hidden treasure and clear the name of John B – played by Chase Stokes – on the deserted island that they find themselves on. There are many new exciting storylines that play out in the new season, which also sees the addition of several brand new cast members.

Canadian actor Andy McQueen plays Don Carlos. Described as a “ruthless Caribbean don on a treasure hunt of his own” Carlos Singh could signify trouble for the crew, especially if he turns out to be a mafia leader of some sorts. And every good villain needs a faithful sidekick, which we see in the form of Carlos Singh’s right hand man, Ryan – portrayed by actor Lou Ferrigno Jr.

Andy McQueen is someone you will recognize from his extensive resume. He is most noted for his performance in the 2019 film Disappearance at Clifton Hill, for which he received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 8th Canadian Screen Awards in 2020, and his recurring role as Detective Malik Abed in the television series Coroner.
He also appeared in the films Brown Girl Begins (2017), Fahrenheit 451 (2018),[3] Books of Blood (2020), Sugar Daddy (2020), Little Orphans (2020) and I Like Movies (2022), in the television series The Handmaid's Tale, Jack Ryan, The Girlfriend Experience and Station Eleven, and on stage in the Toronto production of Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train.

I spoke with Andy McQueen about playing the bad guy, working with the OBX cast and much more.

All three Season of Outer Banks is now streaming on Netflix.
