The Perfect Guy: Interviews with the Cast

Sanaa Latham, Michael Ealy and Morris Chestnut have a lot to learn about finding, The Perfect Guy. In the new thriller, Leah Vaughn (Sanaa Lathan) seems like she has it all. With a fulfilling career as a Lobbyist and a loving relationship, Leah is living the dream. However, things come crashing down when Dave, her long-term boyfriend (Morris Chestnut), questions her future plans for marriage and a family. The resulting breakup leaves Leah heartbroken, until she meets the charming and handsome Carter Duncan (Michael Ealy). Soon, the budding romance turns dangerous as Carter reveals his volatile nature, forcing Leah to turn the tables on the man she thought was Mr. Right.

Latham was immediately intrigued by the script because she thought it felt real. She says it's very Fatal Attraction like and has a good scare element to it.  Sanaa who also co- produces the film alongside Michael Ealy says t’s kind of a dream role for a woman or just for anyone because you get to play the whole arch of the character.  There are so many colors.  You have the romance; you have the tension, and the suspense.  It’s a tour de force and these roles are kind of few and far between and I’m just so thrilled to be able to have the chance.  I mean it’s kind of like a no brainer.  I didn’t have to think, oh, do I want to do this?  It was like I’m jumping at the chance to do this.

Michael Ealy plays creepy to the extreme, especially in one particular scene when he breaks into Leah's home and finds her toothbrush!

I spoke with the cast in Los Angeles about working together on this film, if there really is such a thing as The Perfect Guy and  how we will never look at our toothbrushes in the same way ever again.

The Perfect Guy is in theatres on September  11th.
