The latest Marvel movie is upon us! Captain Marvel starring Oscar winning actress Brie Larson in the title role is the comic-book empire’s first standalone movie to spotlight a female heroine.
Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.
The film also features and all star cast including Carol’s best friend and fellow Fighter pilot, Maria Rambeau who is played by British actress Lashana Lynch. Lynch has appeared in a number of TV shows and films, but after playing Maria Rambeau it’s pretty safe to say that her career is going to soar!
Lynch found her way into acting by being a musician and after attending a fine arts school she was confident about what she wanted to do and instead of asking what she should do with her career, she told people what she wanted to do. Now, she is starring in what could be one of the biggest movies of the year !! The movie is female forward and looks to change the game when it comes to the Marvel Universe.
I had the opportunity to chat with Lashana Lynch in Toronto about her excitement over being in a Marvel movie, how she sees her character as a true hero, flying a rel fighter jet and making this movie for her mother.
Captain Marvel is NOW plating In theaters across North America.
