AMERICAN PASTORAL - INTERVIEWS WITH THE CAST

American Pastoral is a new drama directed by and starring Ewan McGregor, (making his directorial debut), and written by John Romano, based on the 1997 Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the same name by Philip Roth.

The film stars also stars  Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Connelly, and Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black).

Set in Post War America, the story centres around Seymour Swede Levov (Ewan McGregor) a once legendary high school athlete who is now a successful businessman married to Dawn (Jennifer Connelly), a former beauty queen. When his beloved teenage daughter (Dakota Fanning) disappears after being accused of committing a violent act, Swede dedicates himself to finding her and reuniting his family. What he discovers shakes him to the core, forcing him to look beneath the surface and confront the chaos that is shaping the world around him.

I spoke with Ewan McGregor and the stars of American Pastoral in Los Angeles about working on this film and what it was that touched them about the material.

American Pastoral opens in select theatres on Friday October 21st.
