BIG DOOR PRIZE - CATCHING UP WITH THE STARS AND SERIES CREATOR

A charming new series based on a best selling novel is coming to Apple TV+

The Big Door Prize” is a heartwarming and character-driven comedy created by Toronto’s own and Emmy-Award winner David West Read (“Schitt’s Creek”) who also serves as showrunner and executive producer.

The though provoking and funny series stars an ensemble cast led by Chris O’Dowd, Gabrielle Dennis, Ally Maki, Josh Segarra, Damon Gupton, Crystal Fox, Sammy Fourlas and Djouliet Amara.

Based on M.O. Walsh’s novel of the same name, “The Big Door Prize” tells the story of a small town that is forever changed when a mysterious machine appears in the general store, promising to reveal each resident’s true life potential.

“The Big Door Prize” machine sends all the citizens into a tizzy as they re-think their careers, relationships and life paths. The town’s residents include Dusty (O’Dowd) a teacher celebrating his 40th birthday. He’s married to his high school sweetheart, Cass (Gabrielle Dennis, “A Black Lady Sketch Show”), and the couple also has a teen daughter, Trina (Djouliet Amara) who is grieving a recent loss.

“The Big Door Prize” will debut with the first three episodes on Wednesday, March 29, followed by one new episode weekly every Wednesday through May 17.
