COME FROM AWAY - WATCH FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME ( INTERVIEWS)

Canadians have ONE more thing to be proud of!!

The cast of Come From Away regathered earlier this spring not to resume performances on Broadway (that comes later this month), but to film the show for Apple TV Plus.

The emotional production, which debuts September 10, ( the 20th anniversary eve of 9/11) features members of the original company and some new faces, but the spirit of kindness and helpfulness can be seen throughout.

“Come From Away" is the filmed version of the award-winning Broadway musical which tells the story of 7,000 people stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland after all flights into the US are grounded on September 11, 2001. As the people of Newfoundland graciously welcome the “come from aways” into their community in the aftermath, the passengers and locals alike process what’s happened while finding love, laughter and new hope in the unlikely and lasting bonds that they forge.

The live performance of “Come From Away" was filmed at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City, where the Broadway production is staged, for an audience which included 9/11 survivors and frontline workers.

I had the extreme honour of speaking with TONY Award winning Director Christopher Ashley, writers David Hein and Irene Sankoff, and stars Petrina Bromley, Jenn Colella & Tony LePage, De’Lon Grant, Jim Walton & Emily Walton about this truly amazing experience.
