DICKINSON - HAILEE STEINFELD AND THE CAST DISCUSS SEASON 2
/Hailee Steinfeld is back for Season 2 of the Apple TV+ hit series, Dickinson, and this time around she has some important decisions to make!
Dickinson is one of the most fun series streaming today! The show finds Emily Dickinson (Hailee Steinfeld) in the 1850s as she struggles to follow her dreams of becoming a poet. This was at a time when society frowned upon female writers. Her father Edward (Toby Huss) is completely against people finding out she’s a writer and is concerned about the shame she might bring to their family. Only two people support her. The first is George Gould (Samuel Farnsworth), a local literary magazine editor who also wants to marry Emily. Her second supporter is Sue Gilbert (Ella Hunt), her best friend turned secret lover.
The series is unique and original as it uses period costumes and sets which gives it an old fashioned feel. But the dialogue is contemporary. All of the characters speak to one another like they’re living in modern times which strangely works. Plus, modern music is incorporated into the show, which also makes it relatable for today's teens.
In Season 2, Hailee as Emily grapples with the big question of whether or not she wants fame. It's delightful to watch Hailee in this role, especially for the fact that in real life she achieved fame at a young age and is handling it quite well.
Dickinson's Season 2 premieres on Apple TV + on Friday, January 8th.
