DOC - CHATTING WITH SERIES STAR, MOLLY PARKER

Memory lost. Purpose found.  Canada’s own Molly Parker stars in the new emotionally charged Medical drama series, DOC, inspired by a true story.

Doc is a new medical drama starring Molly Parker (House of CardsDeadwood) as the hard-charging, brilliant Chief of Internal Medicine Dr. Amy Larsen, who suffers a brain injury that erases the last eight years of her memory. The accident leaves her with no recollection of patients she’s treated, colleagues she’s crossed, the soulmate she divorced, the man she now loves and the tragedy that caused her to push almost everyone away. But with the immense loss, comes a second chance to do things differently. Doc is inspired by a true story and based on the hit eponymous Italian drama series. This emotionally charged, life-altering-and-affirming medical procedural also stars Omar Metwally, Amirah Vann, Jon Ecker and Anya Banerjee. Scott Wolf and Patrick Walker are featured in heavily recurring roles.

Molly Parker received an Emmy Award nomination for her role as House Whip Jackie Sharp in the Netflix series House of Cards. She also starred as Maureen Robinson in the Netflix series Lost in Space, opposite Billy Bob Thornton in Season One of David E. Kelley’s Amazon Prime series Goliath, and in Erroll Morris’ acclaimed genre-bending series Wormwood opposite Peter Sarsgaard for Netflix.

Parker’s film credits include her role as the accused midwife in Pieces of a Woman opposite Vanessa Kirby; Jockey opposite Clifton Collins Jr.; as Mrs. Darling in David Lowery’s Disney+ feature Peter Pan & WendyWords on Bathroom Walls opposite Charlie Plummer and Taylor Russell; Deadwood: The Movie in which she reprised her role as Alma Garret from the HBO series; Josephine Decker’s Madeline’s Madeline; Stephen King’s 1922; and Ewan McGregor’s directorial debut American Pastoral. She also wrote and directed the short film Bird, which world premiered at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival.

Parker made her feature film debut in Lynne Stopkewich's Kissed, for which she received a Canadian Screen Award (formerly Genie Award) for Best Actress. She won additional Canadian Screen Awards for Bruce Macdonald’s Weirdos and Bruce Sweeney’s Last Wedding. Additionally, Parker was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award as Best Female Lead for Wayne Wang’s Center of the World opposite Peter Sarsgaard.
