FELICITY WARD TAKES ON, THE OFFICE

Make way for Hannah Howard, the newest manager of, The Office.

Australian stand up comedian Felicity Ward has paid her dues. She’s been working away in the business for more thann twenty years. Having started as an actor, she found her calling on stage as a stand up comedian but when she discovered that Prime was creating an Australian version of The Office, she had to give it a go.

The main change to this version of the beloved series is the casting of a female lead, a first for The Office Felicity Ward does a greeat cringe-worthy job in a tough role, having to follow David Brent ( The Office U.K) /Michael Scott (The Office U.S.) character, bringing desperation and loneliness to Hannah Howard, managing director of Sydney-based box company Flinley Craddick.

When she gets news from Head Office that they will be shutting down her branch and making everyone work from home, she goes into survival mode, making promises she can’t keep in order to keep her “work family” together.

The staff of Flinley Craddick indulge her and must endure Hannah’s outlandish plots as they work toward the impossible targets that have been set for them.

Hannah will do just about anything to keep her staff from working from home, which creates some pretty cringey sscenarios.

I spoke with Felicty Ward about taking on the role, getting the thumbs up from creator Ricky Gervais, making the transition from stand up to sitcom and working with her hilarious castmates.

The Office starts streaming on Prime on October 18th.
