FOXHOLE - JAMES Le GROS INTERVIEW
/Three wars. Five Soldiers. 36 hours depicted in one 90 minute movie.
Unfolding over the span of 36 hours in three separate wars - The American Civil War, World War I, and Iraq - FOXHOLE follows five soldiers confined in a foxhole as they grapple with morality, futility, and an increasingly volatile combat situation.
The ambitious film was film written and directed by Jack Fessenden and starring James LeGros and Andi Matichak.
Shooting a war film has it’s challenges because of the immense amount of resources that are required — costumes, sets, props, special and visual effects, sound design and on-screen action — needed to bring such a story believably to life. With Foxhole, independent feature director Jack Fessenden achieve a level of believability with a low budget and dedicated cast and crew.
I spoke with veteran character actor James LeGros about coming on board for this project, playing three soldiers in three wars and the honor he felt taking this on.
