INVASION - SHAMIER ANDERSON and BILLY BARRAT INTERVIEWS

What would you do during an alien invasion? We get perspective from around the globe in the new series, Invasion.

The thrilling new Apple TV + 10 episode series, Invasion a science fiction roller coaster tide created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil. It premieres on October 22, 2021.

The show is not your typical alien invasion series, as this one focuses on several different storylines following characters who are invaded in different parts of the world all of them deal with the ramifications of a mysterious, destructive, and life-changing alien arrival.

Creator Simon Kinberg explains, “This show is a drama set against the backdrop of a massive alien invasion of earth where all of the characters are outsiders dealing with their own version of alienation we want all of these emotional stories magnified by this global traumatic event.”

Some of the characters you will meet include a close-to-retirement sheriff (Sam Neill), a Syrian immigrant mother (Golshifteh Farahan), a British schoolboy (Billy Barratt), a Japanese aerospace technician (Shioli Kutsuna) and a Navy SEAL in Afghanistan, played by rising star and Toronto's own Shamier Anderson.

The series tracks how this Earth-shattering event affects them all, as the alien arrival ripples across communities large and small.

I recently spoke with Shamier Anderson (who is currently in Paris, France working on the Matrix 4 alongside fellow Canuck, Keanu Reeves) via ZOOM to talk about his extensive preparation to work on Invasion.

I also caught up with British acting sensation Billy Barratt to discuss his role as young Caspar Morrow on the series.

INVASION makes its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first three episodes on October 22, 2021, followed by new episodes weekly, every Friday.
