Jeffrey Wright talks "Hunger Games" and the end of "Boardwalk Empire"
/Veteran actor Jeffrey Wright is best known for his very serious and dramatic roles, but he is also very proud of the work he has done in the Hunger Game films. Wright is back in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 as Beetee Latier the technical wizard who invents all of Katniss Everdeen's (Jennifer Lawrence) weapons and says he loved every minute of being back on set with the cast and working with the new actors who are introduced in this chapter.
Wright hadn’t actually read any of “The Hunger Games” books before being cast in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” He was busy acting on stage, screen and TV with works from “Boardwalk Empire” to “Casino Royale.” His literary shortcomings changed when he landed the role buying the entire series and proceeded to read the books cover to cover.
I spoke with Jeffrey Wright via satellite from New York about reuniting with the cast, how hard it was keeping a straight face between takes and saying farewell to his cringe worthy character Dr. Valentin Narcisse on the hit television series, Boardwalk Empire.
