QUEENIE - CATCHING UP WITH SERIES STARS DIONNE BROWN and BELLAH

The only way forward is through! Based on the best-selling novel, comes the highly anticipated Hulu adaptation from onyx collective, QUEENIE!

Queenie Jenkins is a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman living in south London, straddling two cultures and slotting neatly into neither. After a messy breakup with her long-term boyfriend, Queenie seeks comfort in all the wrong places and begins to realize she has to face the past head-on before she can rebuild. The series explores themes including Black womanhood, microaggressions and generational trauma, seen from the lens of our titular character, Queenie.

The series is based on the best-selling novel by Candice Carty-Williams, who serves as the creator, showrunner and co-executive producer.

Explore the depths of Queenie's story, underscoring the notion that true self-discovery is an ongoing process without a fixed destination.

Dionne Brown can currently be seen starring as DC Chloe Summers in the Apple TV series “Criminal Record.” Written by BAFTA-nominated Paul Rutman, the crime series follows two brilliant detectives in a tug of war over a historic murder conviction. Directed by Jim Loach and Shaun James Grant, Dionne stars opposite Peter Capaldi, Cush Jumbo and Stephen Dooley.

North London-based singer-songwriter Bellah has been named “One To Watch” by British Vogue. In the last year, Bellah has graced the cover of Rolling Stone and NME, as well as stellar performances on some of the biggest stages worldwide (Glastonbury, Wireless Festival, SXSW). As of 2024, Bellah has a collective 30M+ global streams, two MOBO Award nominations for Best R&B/Soul Act, and audiences spanning 170 countries worldwide. “Queenie” marks Bellah’s debut acting role.
