SEX/LIFE - SARAH SHAHI, MIKE VOGEL, ADAM DEMOS, MARGARET ODETTE, STACY RUKEYSER and J.MILES DALE DISCUSS THE NEW NETFLIX SERIES
/Netflix is counting on really heating up your Summer!
Sex/Life is a hot new series developed by Stacy Rukeyser for Netflix. The series is based on the novel 44 Chapters About 4 Men by B. B. Easton and is set to premiere on June 25th.
The series, which promises to titillate tells the story of a love triangle between a woman, her husband, and her past that takes a provocative new look at female identity and desire.
Sarah Shahi who plays the stunning Billie Connelly wasn’t always a stay-at-home wife and mother living in the suburbs. Before she married loving and reliable Cooper (Mike Vogel) and moved to Connecticut, Billie was a free-spirited wild child living in New York City with her best friend Sasha (Margaret Odette), working hard and playing even harder. Exhausted from taking care of her two young kids and feeling nostalgic for her past, Billie starts journaling and fantasizing about her passionate exploits with sexy ex-boyfriend Brad (Adam Demos), the big heartbreak she never got over. But the more Billie remembers, the more she wonders how she got here — and then her husband finds her journal. Will the truth about Billie’s past start a sexual revolution in her marriage, or lead her down a path back to the life she thought she left behind with the man who broke her heart?
While it looks like Billie has everything she could ever want in life, she is just missing that wild side of what she used to have and can’t stop fantasizing about her old boyfriend.
The show will definitely raise some eyebrows but will also make you question are we ever really satisfied? Should we settle or live life on the wild side? It was entirely shot in and around Toronto pre and during COVID - so extreme measures were taken to ensure everyone’s health and safety.
I spoke with the cast , creator Stacy Rukeyser and Executive Producer J.Miles Dale about working on the show and why it excited them to be a part of it.
