SQUID GAME SEASON 2 - WE HEAR FROM SOME OF THE CAST AND CREATOR HWANG DONG KYUK

Let the games begin!! The much anticipated second season of the hit Netflix Series Squid game is upon us!

Squid Game became an instant global phenomenon when it was released in 2021 on Netflix becoming their most watched and talked about series in history. The series is a South Korean dystopian survival thriller horror television series created, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk which revolves around a secret contest where 456 players, all of whom are in deep financial hardship, risk their lives to play a series of deadly children's games for the chance to win a ₩45.6 billion prize.

The series takes it name from a similarly named Korean children's game. Hwang came up with the idea based on his own economic struggles, as well as the class disparity in South Korea and capitalism.

Now, three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 (Lee Jung-Jae) gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who made history at the 74th Primetime Emmys® becoming the first Asian to win Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, once again helms the series as director, writer, and producer.

Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo reprise their roles from Season 1 with an impeccable list of new cast members including Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an rounding out the ensemble of colorful characters in the new season.

If you thought Season One was dark, strap in for Season 2! New games, corruption, deception, and more greed is at the forefront which makes this season a bumby and exciting ride!
