THE DAY OF THE JACKAL - ONE ON ONE WITH STAR EDDIE REDMAYNE

Eddie Redmayne is extraordinary ( big surprise!) leading the charge in his exciting new series, The Day of The Jackal.

The 10-part adaptation is based on the seminal novel by Frederick Forsyth and subsequent award-winning 1973 film from Universal Pictures. Canadian TV viewers will get their chance to see Eddie in action on Showcase and Stack TV starting November 14th.

In The Day of the Jackal, the cunning and elusive hitman known as The Jackal will meet his match when his character comes up against Bond star Lashana Lynch as MI6 agent Bianca. Academy© & BAFTA award winner Eddie Redmayne stars as the Jackal, an unrivalled and highly elusive lone assassin who makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee.

Life becomes a whole lot more difficult for Jackal when he comes up against a tenacious British intelligence officer played by BAFTA award winner Lashana Lynch, who tries to track him down in a thrilling chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake. The series, shot on location in London, Budapest and across Croatia is described as a "thrilling cat-and-mouse chase" between the elusive assassin and a special agent.

Eddie Redmayne, who we have seen transform in roles time and time again ( Cabaret - Theatre, Les Miserables, The Theory of Everything) is absolutely riveting as the Jackal. He loses himself in every disguise and even learned to speak French and German for this role. This series is an intense roller coaster ride you will NOT want to miss!

The Day of The Jackal, Season 1 premieres Thursday, November 14 at 9 p.m. ET on Showcase and available to stream on STACKTV.
