THE MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN - HUGH DILLON INTERVIEW
/Paramount Plus has a huge hit on their hands with the new series, The Mayor of Kingstown - all shot on location in Kinston, Ontario!
MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN follows the McLusky family – power brokers in Kingstown, Mich., where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
From Academy Award® nominee and “Yellowstone” co-creator Taylor Sheridan, and Hugh Dillon, MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN features an all-star cast including Academy Award® nominee Jeremy Renner, Academy Award® winner Dianne Wiest, Emmy Award® winner Kyle Chandler, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, Pha’rez Lass and Aidan Gillen.
Kingston’s own Hugh Dillon not only stars in the series but also co-created it alongside his long time friend Taylor Sheridan. Shooting back on his hometown stomping grounds is a dream come true for Dillon and is absolutely thrilled that audiences are loving it.
Dillon is a Canadian singer and actor who is the lead vocalist of rock band Headstones. He is also a film and television actor; his notable roles include Mike Sweeney in Durham County, Ed Lane in Flashpoint and Sheriff Donnie Haskell in Yellowstone.
Dillon was born and grew up in Kingston, Ontario. Dillon grew up living on the same street as future NHL star Doug Gilmour and would play hockey with him on the frozen swamp in their neighbourhood. Dillon also played hockey with Paul Langlois, future guitarist of The Tragically Hip. Dillon attended the Kingston Collegiate and Vocational Institute at the same time that David Usher and members of The Tragically Hip such as Gord Downie attended the school. After high school, Dillon briefly attended Queen's University and lived in London, England before moving to Toronto and then to Los Angeles.
