THE SOCIAL ONES - RICHARD KIND INTERVIEW

Veteran actor and funny man Richard Kind has been making us laugh ( and cry). for over 25 year with his wonderful performances on the stage and large and small screens.

His latest offering is in a mockumentary style film that pokes fun at Social Media Influencers called, “The Social Ones” is available on digital streaming services and on demand.

This movie follows a group of social media influencers as they deal with their own personal struggles as the prepare for a major group photoshoot. This is a movie that was made for today’s audience and is a subject that is ripe for satire.

Richard Kind has a small but. memorable scene as, The Architect, the man who “invented” social media. The ensemble comedy grew out of The New Potato, a lifestyle website founded by Laura Kosann and her sister, Danielle Kosann. As they interviewed and photographed celebrities and social media influencers, they also got caught up in the content rat-race — worrying about how many times a day they posted and how many likes, follows and engagements they had. And just like that, a movie idea was born.

I spoke with Richard Kind about the film, his own Social Media skills and his amazing career.
