TIFF 2019 - ANOTHER STAR STUDDED FESTIVAL
/The stars will shine bright at the 44th Annual Toronto International Film Festival!
Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lopez and Bruce Springsteen are among the hundreds of stars expected to walk the red carpet at this year’s prestigious film festival.
The 11-day movie marathon, which runs from Sept. 5 – 15 will show some of the most anticipated movies of the year, with hopes that many of them will go on to become Oscar nominees.
Meryl Streep who is being honored with a special Tribute award, will appear for Netflix’s The Laundromat, about journalists probing the so-called Panama Papers money laundering scandal.
Tom Hanks will be showcasing A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, in which he plays children’s television entertainer Fred Rogers and BRUUUUUUUCE Springsteen will attend the world premiere of his performance documentary Western Stars.
J-Lo, Constance Wu, Lizzo, and Cardi-B star in Hustlers based on the real life story of strippers inspired by a New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler that went viral, former strip club employees band together to turn the tables on their Wall Street clients.
Other big celebs expected to attend include Joker star Joaquin Phoenix; Daniel Craig for the murder mystery Knives Out; Matt Damon and Christian Bale with the racing biopic Ford v Ferrari; Nicole Kidman for the art forgery drama The Goldfinch; and Natalie Portman with the space story Lucy in the Sky and Renee Zellweger will be there representing Judy, in which she plays singer and actress Judy Garland.
Other notable features and stars include Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, The Goldfinch, with Nicole Kidman and Ansel Elgort, Bad Education with Hugh Jackman The Lighthouse with Robert Pattinson and Shia LaBeouf’s Honey Boy.
