Who doesn’t love a good Vampire saga??? Well get ready, because The Vampire Academy is ready for class!

Based on the International Best-Selling Book Series and, from the creator of The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Legacies, comes a new series from Julie Plec & Marguerite MacIntyre a story of friendship, romance and danger. In a world of privilege and glamour, two young women’s friendship transcends their strikingly different classes as they prepare to complete their education and enter vampire society. One as a powerful Royal, the other a half-vampire Guardian trained to protect against the savage ‘Strigoi’ who threaten to tear their society apart. That is, if Royal infighting doesn’t do the job first.

although there was a 2014 movie based on Richelle Mead’s popular Vampire Academy young adult fantasy books, and this new TV version is much anticipated by the fans.

The new series also comes with a familiar name attached. It’s adapted by Marguerite MacIntyre and Julie Plec. The latter is best-known for hers and Kevin Williamson’s hit adaptation of L. J. Smith’s The Vampire Diaries books on The CW — a show that itself inspired two spin-offs.

Moroi

 Dhampir

  • Half-human, half-Moroi vampire

  • Guardians devoted to protecting the Moroi from the immortal Strigoi

  • Gifted with strength, speed, and agility

 Strigoi

  • Immortal, undead vampires

  • Driven purely by an unquenchable thirst for blood

  • Take human life for sport and are the enemy of the Moroi

    Vampire Academy New Series Premieres Sunday Sept 18 at 9pm e/p exclusively on W Network in Canada.
