Ash vs Evil Dead - Bruce Campbell Interview
/The world's best known B actor Bruce Campbell is back at it! America’s favourite B-Movie actor, Campbell, is always up to something as an actor, author, producer and director. He’s returning to his iconic horror role as “Ash” Williams in the third season of the Starz original series Ash vs Evil Dead, a cult character he first originated almost 40 years ago.
His iconic role as Ashley “Ash” Williams has garnered Bruce a cult following. The role first originated in the low-budget horror film Evil Dead (which he created in 1979 with his Detroit friends Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert.) Campbell starred and co-executive produced the film, which became a world-wide phenomenon. Campbell returns to his classic role of ‘Ash' in the third season of the STARZ series Ash vs Evil Dead.
The new season finds Ash, having gone from murderous urban legend to humanity-saving hometown hero, discovering that he has a long lost daughter who’s been entrusted in his care. When Kelly witnesses a televised massacre with Ruby’s fingerprints all over it, she returns with a new friend to warn Ash and Pablo that evil isn’t done with them yet. But evil will learn to never get in between a papa bear and his cub. The ten-episode series also stars Lucy Lawless as Ruby, who devises her most diabolical plan to defeat Ash and raise hell on earth; Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar, forever loyal to Jefe (Ash), who will realize his true destiny in the battle against evil; and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, whose single goal is to kill Ruby and end the Evil Dead torment once and for all.
Bruce Campbell’s extensive film and television credits include Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (which he also directed,) its follow-up phenomenon, Xena: Warrior Princess, Burn Notice, The X Files, Congo, Cars 2, Escape From LA, Running Time, Serving Sara, The Majestic and Sam Raimi's Spider Man franchise. He is also the best selling author of the memoir entitled If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor, and his first novel, Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way.
I had the opportunity to chat with the iconic actor via satellite from Los Angeles about what's in store for Season 3 of Ash vs Evil Dead, his new book and much more!
