Castlerock - Melanie Lynskey Interview
/Perhaps best known as “Rose” From the hit series, Two and a Half Men, Melanie Lynskey is back on the small screen in Hulu’s J.J. Abram’s produced Psychological Series, Castlerock!
Hulu’s newest original series also stars Andre Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Skarsgard, Jane Levy and Sissy Spacek. Castle Rock is a psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse; an original story that combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King's best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. Executive producers include J.J. Abrams and Stephen King.
Melanie Lynskey plays Molly Strand, a mysterious real estate agent who has a heck of a time trying to sell homes in Castlerock. She also has some mysterious powers that come into play which Lynskey says makes her character all the more interesting!
The New Zealand born actresses first role came in 1994 with her award-winning performance in Peter Jackson's Heavenly Creatures opposite Kate Winslet. Since then, she has amassed a number of credits in both features and television, including Steven Soderbergh's The Informant, Sam Mendes' Away We Go, Up in The Air, Ever After, Sweet Home Alabama, But I’m A Cheerleader, The Intervention, and Clint Eastwood's Flags Of Our Fathers.
Lynskey had a long-running and popular recurring role as 'Rose' in the hit TV show Two and A Half Men opposite Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer. . She was recently seen in Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer and Girlboss, and HBO’s Togetherness. Last year, Lynskey starred opposite Elijah Wood in I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore, which won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. Her upcoming films include Sadie.
I spoke with Melanie Lynskey via satellite from Los Angeles about working on Castlerock, her love for Stephen King and her memories playing the wacky and lovable Rose on Two and Half Men.
