CATCHING UP WITH "GHOSTS" STAR REBECCA WISOCKY
/Who doesn’t love a good ghost story? Rebecca Wisocky star of the hit series, GHOSTS has plenty to say about working on the show and much more.
Rebecca Wisocky, known to millions of viewers as Hetty, one of the stars of the CBS hit series Ghosts, going strong in it’s fourth season
Rebecca is truly amazing as Hetty Woodstone, a robber baron’s wife who died in 1890 and is described as “an uptight Gilded Age spirit.” Hetty is the ancestor of series lead Samantha, played by Rose McIver. Ghosts is not only hilarious but is also surprisingly moving. Season three’s stand-out critically acclaimed episode “Holes Are Bad” featured the unexpected backstory of how Hetty died.
Rebecca Wisocky has been a staple on our screens for years. She is perhaps best known for portraying fan favorite ‘Evelyn Powell’ in the series Devious Maids, from Executive Producers Marc Cherry and Eva Longoria, but she’s a frequent face on TV in both comedy and drama.
Look for Rebecca on this season of Mindy Kaling’s hit series Sex Lives of College Girls’ in a key recurring role of Professor Dorfmann. Some other memorable appearances include recurring roles on Star Trek: Picard, For All Mankind, True Blood, The Mentalist, and American Horror Story and the much lauded series Dopesick about the American opioid crisis.
Her film appearances include Pollock opposite Ed Harris, Hello My Name is Doris opposite Sally Field, in Andrew Dominik’s Marilyn Monroe feature Blonde for Netflix and in David O. Russell’s Amsterdam. She voiced the role of E-bay Elayne in the animated feature Ralph Saves the Internet, and Dee Dumbie-Dungle in the upcoming adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Twits for Netflix.
Rebecca became involved in the arts at a young age at the community theatre in her hometown of York, PA. She completed scholar programs at both Carnegie Mellon and the Pennsylvania Governor’s School, then moved to New York where she graduated with honors from NYU’s Experimental Theatre Wing. She was a founding member of Annie-B Parson’s acclaimed Big Dance Theater, a regular favorite in Jeff Weiss’s infamous late-night soap Hot Keys, and was awarded an OBIE for her performance as ‘Leni Riefenstahl’ in Jordan Harrison’s play Amazons and Their Men.
I had the opportunity to catch up with Rebecca via ZOOM from her trailer in Montreal where she is shooting GHOSTS.
