JACK REACHER - ALAN RITCHSON and LEE CHILDS INTERVIEWS
/Jack Reacher is back and this time around we get more of him in TV series format!
Jack Reacher is a fictional protagonist of a series of novels, novellas and short stories by British author Jim Grant under the pen name Lee Child.[1] A former major in the United States Army Military Police Corps, Reacher roams the United States taking odd jobs and investigating suspicious and frequently dangerous situations.
The Reacher novels are written either in the first person or third person. Most of the novels are set in the United States, in locales ranging from major metropolitan areas like New York City and Los Angeles to small towns in the Midwestern United States and the Southern United States.
To date, Reacher's travels outside the United States have taken him to rural England (The Hard Way, Maybe They Have a Tradition), London (Personal), Hamburg (Night School) and Paris (The Enemy, Personal).
Now we get to experience Jack Reacher from the beginning! The new TV series Reacher is based on the the popular book series by Lee Child. The eight-episode first season, based on Killing Floor, ( the first book) is being. released on Prime Video on February 4, 2022.
The series stars Alan Ritchson in the lead role and according to creator Lee Childs, completely fits the characteristics and personality of the character. Reacher is big: a six-foot-five muscle machine — with hands Child has compared to the size of both dinner plates and supermarket chickens — who draws attention in every room he enters, and is the favorite in the many, many, extremely many fights he gets into.
Alan Ritchson, although daunted at taking on the role last seen played by Tom Cruise in the films, was up for the challenge. The series was shot in and around the Toronto area and if widely accepted by fans could potentially be a hit franchise.
I spoke with Alan Ritchson and Lee Childs about the possibility of this series being a massive hit and much more.
