Devi is back with even more teenage angst in season 2 of the hit Netflix Series, Never Have I Ever.

Never Have I Ever is a coming of age comedy-drama television series starring Canada’s own Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher. The comedy is partially based on Kaling's childhood in the Boston area. It premiered on Netflix on April 27, 2020, and is about an Indian-American high school student dealing with the death of her father.

Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.

The story centers around Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), a 15-year-old Indian-American girl from Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles. After Devi's father, Mohan (Sendhil Ramamurthy) passes away, Devi loses the use of her legs for three months. After a socially horrible freshman year, she wants to change her social status, but friends, family, and feelings do not make it easy for her.

The following year, she tries to deal with her grief, Indian identity, and school life, also struggling with her relationship with her mother, Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), her beautiful cousin, Kamala (Richa Moorjani), her two best friends, Eleanor (Ramona Young) and Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez), her high school crush, Paxton (Darren Barnet), and her nemesis, Ben (Jaren Lewison).

The series is mostly narrated by professional tennis player John McEnroe for Devi, with one of the episodes narrated by Andy Samberg for Ben and other by Gigi Hadid for Paxton.

Season 2 is fantastic and has Devi conflicted over not one but two boys that she has strong feelings for. In between all of Devi’s relationship woes (should she date Ben? Paxton? ), she’s about to get some new competition from another Indian girl transferring to Sherman Oaks High. And with Devi always wanting to be the center of attention, she’s not about to go for it. On top of that, is Nalini about to find herself a new man, just a short while after losing her husband? And what friend drama is Devi about to get herself into next?

I spoke with Maitreyi Ramakrishnan abut the new season, dealing with her new found fame and who keeps her grounded.
