TED K - SHARLTO COPLEY and DIRECTOR TONY STONE INTERVIEWS
/Just when you thought you knew everything about Ted Kaczynski A.K. A - The Unabomber, comes the new film, Ted K.
From the brilliant mind of acclaimed director Tony Stone comes TED K - a bracing, cinematic journey into the tortured mind of The Unabomber.
Deep in the American Rocky Mountains lived a man who sought refuge from modern society. His dark writings forewarned of a society ruled by technology. As the outside world encroached on his mountain sanctuary, he slowly became radicalized with rage. What began with small acts of sabotage, culminated with deadly bomb attacks, national media attention, and the largest manhunt in American history.
The story of the film revolves around Kaczynski as he lives his secluded life in Lincoln, Montana, and follows the years leading up to his eventual arrest as the Unabomber.
Actor Sharlto Copley brings a dark intensity and unnerving intimacy to this chilling portrait of America’s most notorious and enigmatic terrorist.
There have been a number of takes on the Unabomber, including the 2017 Netflix mini-series, Manhunt: Unabomber, with Paul Bettany playing the role of Kaczynski. While the plot of the series was presented mostly from the perspective of the FBI agents looking for him, Ted K will follow Kaczynski's point of view.
Sharlto Copley is absolutely mesmerizing in the role and spent a full year dedicated to playing him based on Kaczynski’s personal diaries, FBI photos and accounts from people who knew him. It’s a bold and riveting performance that will stay with you long after you finish watching the film.
I spoke with Sharlto Copley and director Tony Stone about the detailed research it took to make the film, Sharlto’s method approach at tackling Kaczynski and much more.. including Sharlto’s upcoming appearance in Season 2 of Russian Doll and if we will ever see a sequel to District 9.

TED K will. be available to rent or own across all digital platforms on February 18th.
