SPHERE FILMS and ÉCHO MÉDIA are pleased to announce that TOOPY AND BINOO THE MOVIE, from directors Dominique Jolin and Raymond Lebrun, is now available on VOD on all platforms.

After success with books, TV series, show tours and social media, TOOPY AND BINOO hit the big screen for the first time this summer. Alongside Toopy, voiced by the incomparable Frank Meschkuleit, audiences were delighted by Claudia Besso in the role from The Magnificent Princess, Lucinda Davis as the genius Dorothy as well as Chimwemwe Miller and Brett Schaenfield in the roles of the twins Jean-Jacques and Jacques-Henri.

After an escalation of blunders, Toopy and Dorothy, a comical genie, accidentally make Binoo’s beloved stuffed animal, Patchy-Patch, disappear. The trio immediately set out to find the fabulous land of “The Lost and Found” where Patchy-Patch is surely to be found. Along the way, the little group meets twin seagulls looking for their father and a Magnificent Princess who has lost her dance partner. Together, and despite Toopy’s bumbling ways, they will try to find Patchy Patch and their lost loves.

A true cultural phenomenon both in Canadian children’s literature for over twenty years and on television for over ten years, TOOPY AND BINOO is one of the most beloved animated series with the Quebec and Canadian public. More than one million DVDs and 600,000 books have been sold, more than one billion minutes have been viewed on YouTube, and numerous live shows have been enjoyed by families across Canada.

Far from having exhausted their creativity, authors Dominique Jolin and Raymond Lebrun were inspired by the move to the big screen to broaden the horizons of their characters with new audiences. 

TOOPY AND BINOO’s legendary humor, emotions and adventures unfold in a brand new world full of surprises and overflowing with imagination and laughs.

Written and directed by Dominique Jolin and Raymond Lebrun, based on the books Toupie et Binou by Dominique Jolin, under the artistic direction of Alejandra Arganaraz and Pierre Houde, TOOPY AND BINOO THE MOVIE is produced by Luc Châtelain and Janice Metzger of Écho Média with financial participation from Sodec, the Quebec Tax Credit Program, the Canada Media Fund, the Shaw Rocket Fund, the Canada Tax Credit Program, the Harold Greenberg Fund, the Singing Frog studio, Telefilm Canada, from Huminah studio and Difuze, in collaboration with Corus, Radio-Canada and Crave.

TOOPY AND BINOO THE MOVIE is now available on video on demand on all platforms and will be released on DVD on November 7.
